Black Light Murals
For more than 35 years Keith Padgett has been covering the World with his artwork. Following in the tradition of working Artists throughout the ages, Keith has dedicated his life to his passion. Although Keith enjoys the recognition for his Fine Art domestically and internationally, Keith realized early that he did not play the “starving Artist” very well.
Keith considered his work ethic and reputation for his professional approach to his craft unique in an Industry that depends on creativity in sometimes challenging environments. Large scale Black Light Murals are a direct result of Keith’s earlier experience painting roadside Billboards for his company and commissioned clientele.
Applying Tenebrism, from the Italian, tenebroso (murky), also called dramatic illumination, is a style of painting using very pronounced chiaroscuro, where there are violent contrasts of light and dark, and where darkness becomes a dominating feature of the image. Keith was able to use techniques he admired from some of his greatest Baroque inspirations such as Caravaggio, and American Landscape Master Fredrick Edwin Church.
The Murals take on a 3 dimensional quality which help to enhance the feeling he wishes to convey to the onlooker in his custom environments.
